GENERAL |

Absolutely NO ONE will be allowed into the pool area without a pool pin or guest pass. This means bathers as well as non-bathers. The pin must be worn visibly on swimsuit or clothing. One exception – grandparents will be allowed in without a pass just to observe their grandchildren for a short time. |

No club privileges will be permitted until dues and stock payments are paid. Dues need to be paid for the entire season. No refunds will be given after the start of the pool opening. |

3 |
Regular hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 9:20 p.m. daily when school is not in session. While school is in session, the pool will operate on weekdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and regular hours on weekends. |

Pool management will use its discretion in the closing of the pool for inclement weather or health-hazard conditions. |
 |
5 |
Any family claiming more pins than they are entitled to or loaning pins will forfeit club privileges for 60 days for the entire family. No portion of the dues will be refunded. |

Wear only the pin that has been assigned to you. Lost identification pins should be reported immediately to the lifeguard (if lost on club premises). Pins lost off the premises should be reported immediately to the Membership Chair. Replacement charge for lost pins is $5.00. |

Guest passes are numbered and may not be transferred to any other family. Inactive stockholders may not come as a guest of an active member. Improper use of guest passes will result in the forfeiture of pool privileges for the remainder of the season. No portion of dues will be refunded. |

The club will not be responsible for a loss or damage to personal property. Valuables should not be brought to the pool. |

Tampering with or defacing equipment is forbidden. Property damage will be charged to the responsible family member. |

10 |
No alcoholic beverages will be permitted on the premises. |
 |
11 |
No profanity will be permitted on the premises. |
 |
12 |
Parents, whether present or not, are responsible for children using the club facilities. Parents shall be required to familiarize their children with these rules. |

13 |
Loitering in front of the clubhouse area is strictly prohibited. |
 |
14 |
Wearable swimming aids (i.e. life jacket, “swimmies” or strap-on floats) shall be permitted for children under 8 years of age if the parent is in the pool supervising the child. |

Any child who is a non-swimmer must be supervised by a parent of by being in the pool with the child |
 |
16 |
Please advise guards in the event of a large gathering at the pool (5 or more swimming individuals) during regular hours of operation, this is to ensure adequate staffing and for the safety of all swimmers. |

SANITATION AND SAFETY |

All commonly recognized rules of sanitation and safety shall be observed. |
 |

STATE LAW. All bathers shall shower with soap before entering the pool. After a person leaves the pool area to use the toilet facilities, he/she must shower before re-entering the pool. Bathers also must re-shower after using lotions, oils, etc. A shower includes your hair if you are going to put it into the pool water. An alternative to washing your hair is to wear a swim cap. |

STATE LAW. Admission to the pool may be refused to anyone with colds, coughs, inflamed eyes, infections, or bandages. DO NOT WEAR BAND-AIDS into pool area. |

STATE LAW. No pets will be allowed. |

STATE LAW. WALK on the deck. No pulling, pushing, throwing, dunking, sitting or standing on shoulders. No ball playing, wrestling or undue disturbances in the pool area. ABSOLUTLY NO FAKE DROWNING! |

STATE LAW. NO SHOES on the deck. DO NOT WEAR ROLLER BLADES ON DECK. Please remove all street shoes before entering pool area. |

STATE LAW. No cut-offs or gym shorts in the pool. Bona-fide SWIMSUITS ONLY! Suits must also be clean. |

Swimmers with long hair should tie it back or wear a swim cap. |
 |

Bobby pins or similar metallic objects are not permitted in the pool area. |
 |
10 |
STATE LAW. No food, beverage, glass or breakable plastic containers shall be permitted in the swimming area. |

No smoking on the premises. |
 |
12 |
STATE LAW. No floatation devices, such as inner tubes, rafts, etc. are allowed in the pool. |

The blue and white dividing rope is there to show where shallow water ends and deep water starts. STATE LAW says it must be there. It must be visible at all times. Swimmers are to go UNDER the dividing rope. DO NOT hang on it. |

Ladders and railings are not gymnastic equipment and playing on them loosens them and makes them unsafe. Do not dive or jump from ladders or pull or bang on them. |

15 |
Children standing under hot water showers to keep warm will be sent home. It is provided for a comfortable, sanitary shower BEFORE entering the pool. |

16 |
Adult swim is for ages 18 and older. No children may sit on the pool edge during adult swim times or during breaks. |

GUESTS |

1 |
A guest is defined as any person not in the immediate family of a dues-paying member. Immediate family consists of husband, wife, and unmarried children living in the residence. |
 |

Residents in the area, within the boundaries, have been offered the opportunity to become Shannondale-Mahogany members; therefore anyone who lives within these boundaries, and is not a member, may not be brought as a guest except during designated periods. These periods will be posted at the pool and will be at the discretion of the pool management. |

A guest brought to the pool must check in with the lifeguard. A guest pass must be given to the lifeguard on duty for every guest brought to the pool. Guest passes must be filled out completely and legibly. Additional guest passes can be purchased from the lifeguard for a fee of $5.00 per guest by stockholders, resident non-stockholders and non-resident members. |

Members may purchase special weekly guest passes for “out-of-town” guest families. These special passes are available from the Membership Chair at the rate of $10.00 per week individual or $25.00 per week “out-of-town” guest family |

All guests must be accompanied by a club member and are subject to the pool rules. |

Conduct of guest is the direct responsibility of the club member. |
 |

POOL SUPERVISION |

There will be a qualified lifeguard on duty when the pool is open. |
 |

The lifeguard whistle is a safety measure required by STATE LAW. When blown, everyone should pay attention. A mention of safety or interest will follow shortly. Three (3) long whistles mean you must get out of the pool immediately. |

Report all accidents, no matter how slight, to the lifeguard immediately. |
 |
4 |
No unnecessary conversation with or loitering around the lifeguard is allowed. |
 |
5 |
The pool lifeguard is authorized by the Board of Directors to evict any person, for the balance of the day, for disorderly conduct on the pool premises. |
 |
6 |
The lifeguard is authorized to enforce any additional rules that he/she may deem necessary at the time to provide a safe operation of the pool. If the individual in charge believes that the rule infraction warrants additional discipline, then the case will be referred to the Board of Directors. |
 |
7 |
All children who are nine (9) years old, or who have completed third grade and a proficiency test, may use the pool without being accompanied by an adult, guardian or qualified baby-sitter. However, for safety reasons, all lifeguards have the authority to bar an “of age” child from using the pool unattended by an adult, guardian, or qualified baby-sitter. |

Baby-sitters must be 13 years of age or older and must be swimmers. |
 |
9 |
Children under 6 years of age who wish to use the diving area must be accompanied by an adult or qualified baby-sitter for immediate supervision. |

WADING POOL |

All main pool rules are in effect for the wading pool as well. |
 |
2 |
A parent or baby-sitter must be in the wading pool area, inside the fence, when a child is using the wading pool. Children in the wading pool area are the parents’ responsibility, not the lifeguards’. |
 |
3 |
Only non-swimmers, 6 years old and under may use the wading pool. |
 |
4 |
Infants must wear swim diapers. Absolutely NO cloth or normal disposable diapers in the pool. |
 |
5 |
Only clean, unbreakable toys will be allowed in the wading pool. |

 |
POOL RENTAL |
 |
1 |
The pool may be rented for a private party any evening from 9:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., provided a lifeguard employed by the corporation is available to guard. |

2 |
The pool may be rented for a private party on a Saturday or Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., provided a lifeguard employed by the corporation is available to guard. |
 |
3 |
Minimum fee is $100.00 for up to 25 people. Special arrangements need to be made with the Pool Manager. |
 |
4 |
The fee must be paid at least one week in advance by check or money order. The check or money order must be written by an adult member and made payable to Shannondale Swim Club. (Note: This fee covers the cost of the lifeguards and pool operation during the party.) |
 |
5 |
Reservations are made with the Pool Manager. The party will not be put on the calendar until the Manager has a $50.00 deposit or payment in full. |
 |
6 |
If there will be over 25 people at the party, special arrangements need to be made with the Pool Manager. Additional fees may apply. |
 |
7 |
Non-adults may have a party provided there is a minimum of two parent members at the pool as chaperones. |
 |
8 |
Please have guests assemble at your home and go to the pool as a group. |
 |
9 |
Non-alcoholic beverages and food may be served at your pool party if kept in the picnic area, but the host must assume the responsibility for cleaning up afterwards. An extra charge will be assessed against the member whose party requires extraordinary clean up by the pool staff. |

DIVING BOARD |

Only one person shall be allowed on the diving board at a time. Others will wait at the foot of the steps. |
 |
2 |
No jumping or diving off the side of the diving board. |
 |
3 |
Cross diving in the diving bay is not permitted. |
 |
4 |
Always look before you dive. |
 |
5 |
No hanging on the underside of the diving board. |
 |
6 |
FEET ONLY on the diving board. |
 |
7 |
Do not dive “out” from the diving board for distance. The bottom of the pool slants upward and the further out you dive or jump the more shallow the water is and the more likely you are to get hurt. |

8 |
The diving board is open the first 25 minutes after break and closes the following 25 minutes. |

TENNIS |

The courts are to be used exclusively by Club members. Any guests must be accompanied by a member. |
 |

Reservation sheets will be kept by the lifeguards. Each person may sign up to two (2) non-consecutive one-hour slots per week. Players who wish to play prior to 11:00 a.m. should contact the Pool Manager to arrange for court opening. |

3 |
The hitting wall is not to be used while the west court is in use. |
 |
4 |
No food, beverages, bikes, skateboards, roller blades, etc. or any other objects that will damage the surface will be allowed on the courts. |
 |
5 |
Please respect the court property. DO NOT SIT ON THE NETS OR HITTING WALL. Return Rol-Dri to pool house. |
 |
6 |
Anyone violating these rules will be asked to leave. |
